Why Blog?
What is the big deal with blogging? This have I pondered and perhaps you have too.
Blogging helps to bring traffic to your site. I don’t know exactly HOW, but I read that somewhere, probably on someone’s technology blog. If you have a business online, that increases your chance of making sales. Businesses use all sorts of gimmicks just to get people to “come in.” The idea is, looking leads to buying, so it makes good marketing sense, especially since it’s free.
Blogging is a good way to let everyone know what’s up. The word “blog” is short for WEB LOG, it’s kind of like an online diary/photo album that people can access 24 hours/day from anywhere the internet lives. Can you say “worldwide brotherhood”?
This availability leads to the next point – it’s a form of self-publishing. Some people express themselves best through the typewritten word and blogging provides an immediate audience. And what good is the best acting in the world if there’s no audience? It fulfills a need that is inherent in all humans, the need to share what excites us. Whether it’s music, sculpture, film, the Good News, there’s a good chance that what excites you will excite someone else. So then, we feel duty-bound to share our talent, whether natural or developed. It does our souls good to see someone “skillful in his work,” and almost seems wrong to keep it to ourselves. Thank you American Idol?
It’s probably because of this last point that some readers are hesitant to leave comments, so based on comments alone, one might conclude that Millerland is a very lonely place. But I know deep in my soul, and because several people have told me so, that we DO have repeat visitors. So, let’s conduct an experiment.

Hello New Mexico! Or should I say, “Katrina Sena” wink, wink. I am in lipless, hipless wonder that you have left a comment and I thank you, my friend. You always knew how to lift a person’s spirit, you still got it baby!
