He Will Call

I downloaded the vocal renditions of the new Kingdom Melodies. I did not realize I needed to have a box of tissues to listen to them. The song, “He Will Call,” was heart wrenching, soul stirring. It helped me realize we are the work of Jehovah’s hands. None of us are finished. That will take a thousand years. But like a true artist, Jehovah doesn’t quickly throw out a work in progress. And if death separates us from him, he has a “longing for the work of his own hand.” He truly loves us.

As I listened to the song, I could see the faces of those I’ve seen pass away over the years coming to life again. It made me want to see them so badly. Death is such an ugly monster. I hope with all my heart I’m there to see the day when Christ conquers the last enemy, and it is brought to nothing.

Here are the lyrics from the “vocal rendition” version and a link to download the song. (They are all available now at http://www.jw.org/.)

He Will Call

Life, like a mist, appears for just a day
then disappears tomorrow.
All that we are can quickly fade away
replaced with tears and sorrow.
If a man should die, can he live again?
Hear the promise God has made.

He will call, the dead will answer.
They shall live at His command
for He will have a longing
for the work of His own hand.

So have faith and do not wonder
for our God can make us stand.
And we shall live forever
as the work of His own hand.

Friends of our God though they may pass away
will never be forsaken.
All those asleep who in God’s memory stay
from death he will awaken.
They will come to see all that life can be,
Paradise eternally.

He will call, the dead will answer.
They shall live at His command
for He will have a longing
for the work of His own hand.

So have faith and do not wonder
for our God can make us stand.
And we shall live forever
as the work of His own hand,
as the work of His own hand.

  1. Beautiful. See yourself when all is new is beautiful also. Specially when it mentions the death raises and joins us in singing to Jehovah.
