Suzy’s Beauty Secret
“I love how you got her hair,” the crossing guard said to me this morning as I passed her on my way back to the car,” What’s that called – red?”
‘Got’- surely she could not mean what I thought she meant. Though there are plenty of children as young as 3 running around Koreatown with highlights in their hair.
“YOU did that?” she asked. I was honored, truly. A full head of red hair like hers would have taken a whole lot of skill and love, and a dash of crazy.
“Hair by God” was what I wish I could have said, but I have a feeling she would have asked me what the address was. So instead I took the easy way out, “That’s HER hair, she gets it from her dad.”
